ISLAND POND — It’s said that time heals all wounds. For the members of the 12 Tribes who live in Island Pond, this couldn’t be more true. Looking back to a traumatic moment that would lead to the group’s expansion beyond the small town, members observed the 40 year anniversary of a raid of their properties. As part of the celebration, an open house of the Yellow Deli in town welcomed any and all to see how the establishment looks ahead of officially opening in July.
At the small park on Mill Street, a community gathering saw several people looking at pictures from the past in a wood pavilion. Inside the wooden shelter, a timeline of the 12 Tribes in Island Pond showed its history in the town, starting with the move of some 300 members, then focusing on the infamous raid…
