WESTMORE — Representatives of the state Department of Forests, Parks, and Recreation (DFPR) appeared before the Westmore Zoning Board of Adjustment (ZBA) on December 16 to explain their proposal for changes on state property at the south end of Lake Willoughby and ask for a conditional use permit for the work.

At the meeting, which took place at the Westmore Fellowship Hall as well as online, neighbors of the area, which has been troubled by long stretches of parked cars and pedestrians walking along Route 5A on their way to the beaches, objected to aspects of the project, saying the new proposals are too extensive and won’t solve the problem.
