NEWPORT — Skills USA students at North Country Career Center are putting their new leadership skills to good use by organizing the annual “clothing drop and swap” on October 13 and 14.
SkillsUSA is a national nonprofit that seeks “to empower students to become skilled professionals, career-ready leaders, and responsible community members.” It provides personal and leadership development. Celine Champine, a health science instructor at the career center and a lead advisor for the SkillsUSA chapter, said North Country Career Center’s SkillsUSA chapter focuses heavily on professionalism in addition to community service…..
