Aurele “Beeb” Souliere
Aurele “Beeb” Souliere, 90 died peacefully on September 22, 2024, in Brownington. If you had the good fortune to know Beeb and spend any time with him over the years, you would say without a doubt, “he was one of a kind.” Beeb was born in 1933 in Newport to Delphis and Juliette Souliere. Born into a large family, Beeb loved his siblings dearly. Beeb was predeceased by his siblings: Ross, Gassy, Joe, Sam, Reggie, Gilbert, Marcel, Rachel, and Teresa. In 1962 Beeb married Maryann Cheney with whom he had 5 children: Timothy Souliere, Christine Souliere, Todd Souliere, Earlene Connolly and Scott Souliere.
An avid outdoorsman and hunter and a true Vermonter his entire life, Beeb was also a mechanic, a farmer, and an auctioneer. Beeb loved the outdoors and taught his children a deep respect for animals and the value of hard work.
Beeb would say, if there’s work to be done, “find a way to do it, ain’t no one gonna do it for you.”
Beeb, a veteran, spent two years in the Army before he was honorably discharged. Thereafter, Beeb ran Souliere’s Flying A Service and Gas Station in Orleans at “The Block.” After leaving Orleans, Beeb bought a farm in Evansville and, following his passion for animals, ran a dairy farm and trained horses.
Beeb attended auctioneering school in Arkansas with his brother and nephew and they spent many years as auctioneers. There were few places Beeb loved to be more than the Orleans Commission Sales with his family.
Hunting was another passion for Beeb and he spent countless hours with the Souliere boys at the Shutesville Hunting Camp.
Beeb’s love for his siblings was on full display to his many nieces and nephews every year for the past 31 years at the Souliere family reunion at Lake Willoughby and then, in later years, at Crystal Lake. You always knew if you were on Beeb’s good side if he teased you and or if he offered you a butterscotch candy.
Beeb leaves behind Carla Ticehurst, their daughter Rebecca Souliere and Carla’s daughter Amanda Ticehurst. Beeb spent the past 37 years with Carla, enjoying their time at Galluping Acres. They had a trail riding business for many years. He had a love for animals, especially the horses and cows at the farm. Along with animals, he always loved a good joke. He looked forward to company popping in for a visit. He was forever joking around and having a good laugh with whomever visited.
Beeb is survived by his sister, Sister Carmel Souliere, his children, his grandchildren: Isabelle, Garrett, Cole, and Lena and countless nieces and nephews in Vermont and spread out across the United States.

Olive Marilyn Barry
It is with the saddest of hearts the family of Olive Marilyn Barry announces her death. She died at home on September 26,2024, at the age of 89, surrounded by her loving family.
She was born October 6,1934, to the late William and Alice Lapierre in Newport. She joined two older brothers, Emile and Donald and became the big sister to her younger brother William “Billy.” She graduated from Newport High School in 1953. She worked at a bank in Newport after graduation and fondly spoke of her time working there, especially of when she and her friend Joyce were busted for hiding chips in the filing cabinets and drinks in the toilet tank — she sure was a risk taker!! After meeting Lloyd Barry on a blind date and telling her girlfriend that she’d hate to meet him in a dark alley she married Lloyd on June 27, 1959, and shared almost 51 years together as they created a wonderful, loving home and four children all of whom survive her.
She opened her home to many, many children that she babysat in her home after becoming a mom herself. She LOVED spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, and her life-long friends. She enjoyed playing cards and doing word-search puzzles and reminiscing while viewing any of the thousands of printed pictures she had. She also looked forward to and enjoyed her monthly breakfast outings with the bank girls and lunches with the “Northern Avenue” girls and trips to Maine with her sister-in-law Bev Chapdelaine.
She was predeceased by her husband, Lloyd, and her brother Emile “Bill” Lapierre and Annette (sister-in-law) and her brother Donald Lapierre and by all her brothers- and-sisters-in-law on Lloyd’s side.
She is survived by her sons, James, William and Dee, Thomas and Sheila, and by daughter Susan and Todd, and by her 43 grandchildren of whom 25 are great-grandsons with a twenty-sixth great-grand-baby Houghten arriving in February 2025.
She is also survived by her brother William “Billy” and Delores Lapierre, and by sister-in-law Jackie Lapierre and many, many nieces, and nephews and by her special lifelong friends Joyce Buckland, Rita Fortin, and Shirley Baird.
Friends may call from 1 p.m. until the hour of the service, 2 p.m., on Friday, October 4 at the Curtis-Britch & Bouffard Funeral Home, 37 Lake Road, Newport.
