Bill McKibben is best known for his books about climate change and his activism against the forces that have brought it about.  Falter, his newest book, speaks of increased carbon dioxide levels in the atmosphere and melting glaciers, but also considers apparently unrelated topics, including artificial intelligence and the attempts by some to make themselves immortal.
