Adeline E. Breault
Adeline E. Breault, 79, of Island Pond died peacefully January 12, 2010, at home.
She was born October 4, 1930, in Bartonsville, a daughter of Merle and Edith (Bushway) Taggart.
In 1976 she married Donald Breault Sr., who survives her.
She was a registered nurse and worked at the Manson State Hospital in Massachusetts for 14 years. She retired in 1987.
She enjoyed crotcheting, tending her plants and flower gardens, and spending time with her family.
She is survived by her husband, Donald Breault Sr., of Island Pond; by four children: Joanne Merrill and her husband, Donald, of East Dorset, Donald Breault Jr. of Houston, Texas, Cinthia Judd and her husband, David, of North Troy, and Tina Lafferty of Island Pond; by five grandchildren; by two great-grandchildren; by her sister Agnes Dow of Manson, Massachusetts; and by several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by two brothers, Howard and Dana Taggart; and by her sister Lillian Hammac.
Funeral services were held January 16 at St. James Catholic Church in Island Pond with the Reverend Frank Connors celebrating a Mass of Christian Burial.

Dale M. Harvey
Dale M. Harvey, 49, of Westmore died peacefully on Saturday afternoon, January 16, 2010, at home with his family by his side, following a courageous battle against cancer.
Mr. Harvey was born March 22, 1960, in St. Johnsbury, a son of Winston and Isabelle (Ewens) Harvey. He was a 1978 graduate of Lyndon Institute.
He operated Dale’s Automotive in Lyndonville for 25 years. In 2006 he began working in Newport for Columbia Forest Products, where he was a crew leader in the maintenance department.
He and his wife, Lynn (Johnson) Harvey, whom he married January 9, 1988, enjoyed building and living in their home in the hills of Westmore. He loved being in the country. His favorite pastimes included fishing, hunting, gardening, football (an avid Steelers fan), baseball, hockey, kayaking, skiing, and visiting his sister and brother-in-law on the outer banks of North Carolina.
Most important to him was the time he had with his family, his friends, and his pets. A kind and loving man, he was always ready to help his friends and neighbors when in need.
Survivors include his wife of 22 years, Lynn Harvey, of Westmore; four children: Laura Lamonda and her husband, Scott, of Orleans, Dana Harvey and his wife, Tiffany, of Orleans, April Harvey and her fiancé, Todd Sumner, of Concord, and Kristen Harvey of Westmore; three grandchildren: Isabella, Kyler, and Masyn; his sister Diane Pickett and her husband, John, of Poplar Branch, North Carolina; his mother- and father-in-law, Bob and Carol Williams, of Westmore; four brothers-in-law: David Johnson and his wife, Lynn, of Topsham, Dan Johnson and his wife, Wendy, of Essex Junction, Ben Williams and his wife, Renee, of Lyndon, and Dustin Williams and his wife, Nancy, of Sutton; several nieces and nephews; many aunts, uncles, and cousins, including his cousin Eileen “Missy” Beliveau of Lyndon, who was like a sister to him; and many good friends and neighbors, including his two best friends, Jim Cotter of Oregon and Peter Carlton of Sutton. He was predeceased by his parents, Winston Harvey in 1993 and Isabelle Harvey in 1994.
A gathering of family and friends will be held Wednesday, January 20, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Guibord Funeral Home. Private family services will be held this summer.

Josephine M. LeMay
Josephine M. LeMay, 90, of Derby died peacefully January 15, 2010, at home.
Mrs. LeMay was born March 17, 1919, in Newport, a daughter of Edmund and Lumina (Labounty) Before.
On June 25, 1940, she married Albert LeMay, who predeceased her on April 30, 1992.
She was a member of St. Edward’s Catholic Church in Derby Line. On Mondays she went to adoration at St. Edward’s, and she enjoyed traveling with the Community Circle and spending time with her family. She was a member of the Forever Young Club, where she played cards and enjoyed doing crossword puzzles.
She is survived by seven children: Claire Wagner of West Charleston, Raymond LeMay and his wife, Patricia, of Troy, Mary Desjarlais and her husband, Gilles, of Troy, John LeMay and his wife, Gigi, of Derby, Marguerite Cross and her husband, Randall, of East Charleston, Shirley Cross and her husband, James, of Island Pond, and Pauline Hodgdon and her husband, Bradley, of Waterbury; by daughter-in-law Connie LeMay of Troy; by 17 grandchildren; by 20 great-grandchildren; by one great-great-grandchild; by three brothers: Henry Before and his wife, Marilyn, of Montana, Vincent Before and his wife, Joyce, of West Burke, and Roland Before of Bennington; by four sisters: Cecile Lebeau of Irasburg, Carmen Harter of Spokane, Washington, Theresa Cox and her husband, Jim, of Spokane, and Rita Riley of Florida; and by numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was predeceased by her son Roger; and by two daughters, Rachel and Patricia.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. at St. Edward’s Catholic Church in Derby Line on Wednesday, January 20, with the Reverend Michael Reardon celebrating a Mass of Christian Burial.

Leo Paul G. Sargent
Leo Paul G. Sargent, 38, of Newport died suddenly on January 15, 2010, in Newport.
Mr. Sargent was born January 20, 1971, in Newport, a son of Betty Sargent and Robert Morse.
He was a self-employed auto mechanic. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, snowmobiling, four-wheeling, and doing almost any other outdoor sport. He liked to work on cars.
He is survived by his mother, Betty Shatney, and her husband, Edward, of Lyndon; by two children; by his brother Harry Sargent Jr. of Coventry; by sisters: Nancy Pray of Lyndonville, Angel Verge of West Burke, Tammy Verge of Newport, Teresa Bryant of Burlington, Rachel Allen and her husband, Jerry, of Barnet, Samantha Shatney of Lyndon, and Kara Shatney and Brittney Shatney of Lyndon; and by several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and friends. He was predeceased by his adoptive parents, Harry Sr. and Ruth Sargent.

Charlemagne “Charlie” J. Veilleux
Charlemagne “Charlie” J. Veilleux, 94, of Newport died January 14, 2010.
Mr. Veilleux was born in St. Odilon, Quebec, on June 18, 1915, the oldest of four children born to Joseph and Albertine (Lessard) Veilleux.
Hoping to become a priest, he entered the Trappist Monastery at age 19, but due to illness left at 23 years old.
He worked various jobs during the Great Depression, including the foundries in Springfield.
In 1953, he married Yvonne Gonthier of Berlin, New Hampshire, moved to Newport, and worked as a store clerk for Roy Valley. A few years later, he became the bookkeeper for Poutre Coal and Oil, Blue Seal Grain, and Newport Fuels.
He was an avid gardener and maintained a large garden on Herrick Street.
He and his wife were devoted to their family, caring for and opening their home when the need arose. He and his wife and his sister Martha cared for Jeannette (Yvonne’s sister) and Albertine (Charlie and Martha’s mother) until they died. Along with Tim Daley, a longtime family friend and personal care provider, he cared for Martha, who died of cancer in 2000, and for Yvonne, who died of respiratory failure in 2005.
Above all, he was a devout Catholic. He was a member of Gibbons Council Knights of Columbus 2285 and a fourth-degree member of Gibbons Council 1157 as well as a recognized champion of the right to life movement.
Kindness, selflessness, and a willingness to help were the hallmarks of Charlemagne J. Veilleux.
He is survived by one sister, Gisele Lamoureux, of Feeding Hills, Massachusetts; by nieces and nephews; by his son Anthony “Tony” Veilleux and his companion, Donna Coburn, of Brownington; and by his daughter Corrine Desjardin and her husband, James, of Newport. He was predeceased by his wife, Yvonne; by his sister Martha; and by his brother Roland Vayer.
Spring interment will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery in Newport.

Steven Edward Wagner
Steven Edward Wagner, 18, of Newport died Friday, January 15, 2010, in Newport. His life ended tragically.
Mr. Wagner was born May 21, 1991, in Newport.
He had a great love for the outdoors, and he could be found fishing on the causeway and in winter on the bay catching fresh perch for his family and friends. Rain or cold weather did not deter him from his passion for fishing. He loved the lake both for fishing and swimming.
Need assistance cutting or stacking wood? He would be the first to volunteer, and he was someone people could always count on when help was needed.
Spring was a special time with the arrival of sugaring, and he assisted with gathering sap, filling the sugarhouse woodshed, and boiling, including hot dogs cooked in the boiling sap.
Summer fun included riding his bike around Newport and fishing on Lake Willoughby.
He was proud of his family, and he would make every effort to assist with housekeeping chores.
He was loved and will be sadly missed by his parents, Edna and Raymond Wagner Jr.; by five sisters: Julie Wagner, Lisa Wagner, Christian Wilford, Donna Corkins, and Raya Conley; by his brother Raymond Wagner Jr.; by brother-in-law Wol James of West Hartford, Connecticut; and by several aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews.
He respected and enjoyed his meetings with James Martin, his attorney and friend, and he will be deeply missed by his Eagle Eye Farm family and the classmates with whom he interacted during the past several years.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. on Wednesday, January 20, at the Curtis-Britch Converse-Rushford Memorial Chapel on Lake Road in Newport where a celebration of his life will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, January 21, with the Reverend Alan Magoon officiating.

Stephen C. Willey
Stephen C. Willey, 15, of Craftsbury died unexpectedly January 14, 2010.
Stephen was the beloved son of Jessica Locke and Anthony Boyce of Craftsbury and Kevin Willey and Shannon Daniels of Irasburg. He attended Craftsbury Schools where he was a freshman.
He was an avid outdoorsman, whether it was hunting, fishing, trapping, or being at the racetrack. His love for the game was undeniable. He enjoyed working on the farm and loved to be out on his snowmobile with friends and family.
He is survived by his parents; by his dear sister Savanah Boyce; by his grandparents, who loved him dearly: William and Judy Locke, Pam and Reg Allen, Nate and Mary Jo Willey, and Albert and Judy Boyce; by great-grandparents: David and Audrey Reed, Everett and Alice Willey, Nancy and Gordie Eldreed, and Everett and Mary Boyce; by extended family members: Aunt Nonna, Unc, Brandon and Blair Locke, Auntie Amanda and Matt, Uncle Wayne, Kristie, and Karina Willey, Dawn, Lucien and Matthew Mason, David Daniels, Amanda Daniels, Donna Daniels, and Chris Daniels; by his girlfriend, Nichole Cochran; by his best friend, Mike Menard, who will miss him dearly; and by many other family and friends who will not let him be forgotten.
A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, January 20, at the Craftsbury Academy gymnasium with the Reverend Alan Parker officiating.
