NEWPORT — Northern Star, the excursion boat owned by Memphremagog Community Maritime (MCM) and used for educational and touristic cruises, is due to have her hull inspected by the Coast Guard. Any similar craft operating in international waters faces the same requirement.
In previous years the boat has been lifted out of its home waters by crane, the inspection conducted, and the boat lowered back into the lake. This year is a bit different said MCM board member Dan Gauvin. A propellor shaft needs replacement….
