Falcons fall short of championship

BARRE — The North Country Union High School Falcons climbed to the Division 2 finals here, but on Saturday fell just short of the pinnacle of success.  The first-seeded Falcons were matched up against the Slaters of Fair Haven Union High School, who were seeded second.

For the first half of the game, things went as well as any North Country supporter could have hoped.  The Falcons got off to an early lead thanks to a balanced attack.

Fair Haven focused its defensive efforts on the always dangerous Sabine Brueck, giving her teammates the opportunity to show their stuff. ..
