The pike hauled in by David Boomer of Newport Center opened some eyes at the weighing station Saturday afternoon. Officials from the Fourth Annual Northeastern Vermont Bass Anglers’ Pike Tournament said, at 20 pounds seven ounces, it was the largest fish ever entered in the derby. Mr. Boomer’s catch measured 43 and three quarters inches.
