NEWPORT — Ami English, a coach with North Country Supervisory Union (NCSU), won the early childhood educator of the year award given by the Vermont Association for the Education of Young Children (VTAEYC), at a ceremony held October 13. The award honors exceptional early childhood educators and spotlights the importance of high-quality early childhood education for Vermont’s children, families, and communities.
When the Chronicle spoke with Ms. English about her award — and the work that led to it — the first item of business was finding out what high-quality early childhood education is.
