Barton after school has shed to raffle

BARTON — The Barton Graded School after-school program will enter its fifth year of providing a safe, educational, and interesting place for students to spend their afternoons in the upcoming 2025-’26 school year, says Angie Rutherford, the site coordinator for the program.  The program runs four days a week from 3-5 p.m. during the school year, but is ended until the fall.

Each day students gather in the school cafeteria following dismissal from class, eat a snack, and then have recess.  Then, the children break up into three different classes for the day.  Each has a choice between different activities. That allows the program to fit the differing interests and needs of the students, Ms. Rutherford said.  About half of the school’s total student population participates in the program. …
