Tipsy talk takes topers traveling

NEWPORT — Everyone has an interesting story to tell.  Whether it be a part of their greater journey or something they’ve witnessed throughout the whole of their life, those stories are part of what makes up our neighbors and friends.  As part of this season’s run of Tipsy Talks, a series aimed at having local speakers share tales and perspectives two men took the spotlight at Jasper’s Tavern on January 21.

The first talked about what it’s like to be legally blind.  Eric Schneider, who many people see riding on his bike through the city, spoke about how a rare impairment has impacted his life.

“There aren’t many people with my condition, and most of them are in my family,” he said.  His limited vision has mostly affected his ability to get around, prohibiting him from getting a driver’s license.  That didn’t stop him from seeing the country, though.
