NEWPORT — The hottest hand among the current cast of Falcons made history on February 2 when she went up for two points and came down with the record for most points ever scored by a North Country Union High School player.
Sabine Brueck came into the game just a couple of points shy of the all-time record of 1,316 set by Kylie Wright in 2018.
Brueck’s individual achievement would not be as sweet as it is were it not part of the group effort that has earned North Country a 15-1 record on the season. That puts the Falcons atop the rankings in Division 2 girls basketball and gives them a better than even chance of returning to the Aud come March.
The Falcons met Spaulding High School’s Crimson Tide they treated the game as another stepping stone toward realizing their championship aspirations.
