Police say woman played real-life bumper cars

NEWPORT — A Newport Center woman is facing four charges of reckless endangerment and one of reckless or grossly negligent driving after police say she rear-ended two vehicles on April 6.

Forty-six-year-old Jana Leigh appeared in the Criminal Division of Orleans County Superior Court and pled innocent to the five misdemeanors.  District Court Judge Rory Thibault released Ms. Leigh on conditions.

An affidavit from Vermont State Police Trooper Richard Berlandy says police got a call around 5:14 p.m. on April 6 from a woman who said she was headed north on Interstate 91 and a blue sedan hit the back of her vehicle.
