NEWPORT — When Newport Police Patrolman Samuel Borsari went to investigate the report of a robbery, he found himself with four substantially different accounts of the day’s events with, perhaps, another to be heard. According to affidavits from Patrolman Borsari, the alleged crime came to official notice when a man called at around 7:42 p.m. on July 7 to say his brother, who lives on Patenaude Court, called and said people had been at his house and held him and a woman at gunpoint.
Patrolman Borsari’s affidavit says the caller said the people robbed the woman and drove off in a red Dodge truck. When he arrived at Patenaude Court, the affidavit says, Patrolman Borsari spoke with the caller and the resident of the house.
The resident of the house named the person who drove into his driveway, and said he recognized him from past associations, Patrolman Borsari said. While the driver was named in the affidavit, he has not been charged as of yet, so his name will be omitted from this account.
In addition to the driver, the home resident said Miriah Lawton, 29, whose address is unknown according to court records, Brandon Pavelchak, 34, of Derby Line, and Nicholas Blake, 36, of Newport were in the truck, the affidavit says.
The homeowner said he had spoken to Ms. Lawton on July 6 and told her Mr. Pavelchak owed him money, ….
