LOWELL — Even those without kids probably know Ranger Rick. It’s an educational magazine published by the National Wildlife Federation and aimed towards youngsters. Ranger Rick encourages kids to take to the outdoors and explore the environment around them. An annual competition aims to highlight youngsters who share a love of the natural world. A local girl recently placed in the top ten of the competition, shining through as a true Junior Ranger.
Daisy Rae Daniels said she was inspired to enter her daughter Alice into the competition because of her own connection to natural spaces as a kid. Growing up between Vermont and California, she visited a lot of national parks.
