Across Orleans County, libraries are buzzing with activity this summer, each offering a unique blend of programs designed to inspire, educate, and entertain visitors of all ages. From puppet shows to historical film screenings, the community hubs are proving to be more than just repositories of books.
Recently, library directors from Orleans County gathered for a quarterly county-wide meeting with Jonathan Clark, a consultant with the Vermont Department of Libraries. Library staff in attendance provided updates on their summer programming, and also discussed a nearly universal challenge: how to keep older kids reading through the summer.
