John Predom creates art in the snow one step at a time

BRIGHTON — Even on the Kingdom’s most frigid days, chances are John Predom is outside in his snowshoes for one reason or another.  Exploring the great outdoors has been a long-time source of peace and vitality for Mr. Predom, and he knows a thing or two from his experience navigating the elements over the years.  He rang in the new year with a community exercise — guiding 37 hikers along 2.25 miles of Brighton State Park’s trails for its annual First Day Hike.  Mr. Predom has also been an active member and volunteer with the Green Mountain Club since his mid 30s, adopting trails to maintain them, and serving as president of the club’s Northeast Kingdom section.  But when temperatures drop and the sun is shining, the Brighton resident gears up to take advantage of an unconventional canvas in his own backyard: …
