Guide helps farmers find grants

NEWPORT — A new guide has been created to help agricultural producers in Vermont navigate the dizzying array of grant opportunities available to them.  The guide was created by the Franklin County Natural Resources Conservation District, and is available in hard copy or online at franklincountynrcd.org/agproducersguide.  The guide was launched in Orleans County Friday at the USDA field office at Waterfront Plaza, an event organized by the Orleans County Natural Resources Conservation District (OCNRCD).

Sarah Damsell, the OCNRCD district manager, greeted a small group of producers — both brand-new to farming and experienced crop farmers who attended the event in person.  She showed them how to use the guide to find the right grant sources….
