Burglaries lead court docket

NEWPORT — The docket for the Criminal Division of Orleans County Superior Court was weighed down with charges of burglary and other kinds of break-ins in the last week of January.

Olivia P. Pelletier, 27, of St. Albans appeared before Judge Rory Thibault to plead innocent to a felony charge of burglary, three charges of unlawful mischief, and two of retail theft.

Judge Thibault set bail for Ms. Pelletier at $2,500.

In his affidavit Vermont State Police Sergeant Joshua Mikkola said he was told just before noon on Christmas Day that a cash drawer box containing around $200 had been taken from the Jay Village Inn and Restaurant.  He said he went to Jay and learned the inn has three levels.
