Baseball Rangers make history

BURLINGTON — Just before the start of Saturday’s Division Two state championship baseball game two gray-headed men, a grandfather and a veteran teacher, were sharing their wisdom about high school athletics just outside Centennial Field at the University of Vermont.
The teacher noted that those in the know didn’t think the Lake Region Rangers stood much of a chance. They had, after all, lost two games in May to the team they were about to face, Lamoille Union of Hyde Park.
