It was one of those cold, gray days that signal the arrival of autumn, hinting at the long winter ahead. The traffic in Lyndonville was light but steady. I stood before the coffee shop waiting for a woman I’ll call Jane. A few weeks earlier, Jane, a resident of Orleans County, agreed to introduce me to an addict close to her. This addict, according to Jane, would share her story.
