CRAFTSBURY — On June 3, the select board picked up a weeks-long discussion over an open meeting law violation complaint filed last month by James LaRock. The subject was short-lived, however, as the board decided to table it until after it conferred with legal counsel.
Mr. LaRock filed his complaint after the May 20 meeting where the agenda included an item about the gravel pit owned by Kurtis Mellett, with whom the town has an agreement to provide road maintenance materials. Mr. LaRock, a neighboring landowner, arrived via Zoom a few minutes before the 7 p.m. start time and thought discussion was already underway between Mr. Mellett and the select board.
