Bridge to close on Newport-Derby Road

DERBY — Bridges were on the collective mind of the Derby Select Board Monday evening.  The state plans to close the Route 5 bridge spanning Interstate 91 on August 26, only ten days after work on the Interstate Access Road in Newport is completed.
