Veterinarians needed, in short supply

Anyone who cares for an animal wants to see that it receives the best possible care.  When there’s a need for more than just the  food, shelter, and company that pets require, owners want to see their pets or livestock get treated with the same respect their own doctor gives.

The goal of a veterinarian’s practice is to make sure both patients and their humans are comfortable and well taken care of.  In recent years, though, reaching that goal has become increasingly difficult.

In speaking with a handful of the region’s head veterinarians, the factors that play a role seem larger than, but still connected to, the often rural nature that comes with living in the Northeast Kingdom.

Anyone with a pet who is new to the area has encountered a common quandary that goes much farther than the Northeast Kingdom….
