A beautiful, snow-white, and lifeless swan floats in the waters around Gardner Park in Newport. The swan is one of a few decoys floating around the park, as part of an effort to deter geese. Goose wire has also been strung along the shore. Both deterrents were set up by Newport Public Works based on recommendation from Vermont Fish and Wildlife.
