While Governor Phil Scott has rolled out a plan to reconfigure the way education is provided in Vermont with great fanfare, there remain some doubters.
Vermont Representative Leanne Harple of Glover, is in her first term and sits on the Education Committee. She said her committee has held numerous hearings to consider the ideas included in the plan, but said it doesn’t appear likely that the Legislature will take action on it this session.
That, she said, isn’t necessarily due to opposition on the merits, but is simply a result of the legislative process. The Governor, Representative Harple said, has not submitted his plan in the form of a bill. Even if he were to do so quickly, …
