IRASBURG — Meghan Chilafoux was up early Monday and busy getting her children ready for school when she heard a “huge explosion.” Looking out the window, she saw a big fire coming from the bridge over Route 14 right at the end of her driveway.
“I called 911 within ten seconds,” she said later that afternoon in a conversation with the Chronicle.
What Ms. Chilafoux heard was the result of an accident in which a tractor trailer with a tank filled with propane went off the road and into the Black River.
“How it missed the telephone pole, I can’t say, the truck went between the pole and a guardrail,” she said….
