BARTON — The new head of RuralEdge, the housing and community development organization that owns Barton’s Pierce Block, says the historic building needs a structural engineering study and probably extensive repairs.
“We’re looking to bring in a structural engineer to evaluate the building,” Patrick Shattuck said.
Following that assessment and renovations, he said, one option for the building is to occupy the two street level commercial spaces with tenants that can succeed.
