OCSU board has hour-long staff stipend discussion

BARTON — The conflict between sound process, profound need, and equity was acute at the special Orleans Central Supervisory Union (OCSU) board meeting on June 27.  It was held remotely via Google Meet or phone, and the short agenda centered mainly around a proposed pay increase for a central office accounting staff person.  OCSU Business Manager Crista Perkins presented a proposal to increase the responsibilities of a current payroll clerk at the supervisory union’s central office, and requested approval from the board to offer that staff member a $9,000 stipend as interim additional compensation for the 2023 fiscal year.
