Mary E. Tremblay
Mary E. Tremblay (née Bousquet) died and found her peace September 16, 2026, at the age of 80, surrounded by her loved ones. Beloved wife of 58 years to Francis; loving mom of James (fiancée Jen) Tremblay, Janice (Arlan) Korth, and Jason (Nydia) Tremblay; beloved grandma of Max Korth, Michael Tremblay, Matthew Tremblay, Melanie Tremblay, Josh Heim, and Nathan Marrero; loved by very special people Yvonne and Lotti; also, loved by many relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her mother, Charlotte Bousquet, (née Smith), father, Leon Bousquet, and dear friend Sherry.
Born in Newport, she attended Orleans High School and went to Milwaukee, Wisconsin, in 1966. She married the love of her life, Francis, in 1968 and enjoyed 58 wonderful years together. She raised her family with Francis in the home they built and lived in for 56 years. She worked for Milwaukee Public Schools for 31 years at Vincent High School. She loved her job and all the people that she met over her 31 years.
Mary was known for her open heart, welcoming spirit, and her joy in seeing others happy. Mary found joy in her card making — whether it was for a friend, relative, or preparing for a craft fair. These cards will continue to bring joy to all those who received them over the years.
Visitation will be at the funeral home in Milwaukee on Wednesday, September 23. Additional visitation will take place on Thursday, September 24, at Chapel of the Chimes in Wisconsin Memorial Park, with funeral service and entombment following.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made in memory of Mary to the American Diabetes Association or Warm the Children of Vermont.
Leonard “Lenny” C. Field
Leonard C. “Lenny” Field, 85, of Manchester, New Hampshire, died at the Elliot Hospital on September 14, 2026.
He was born in Lowell, on June 28, 1941, the son of the late Marshall and Lydia (Faucher) Field. He worked for Freudenberg — NOK for over 35 years, retiring as a supervisor. He enjoyed camping, woodworking, and spending time with his family.
Family members include his wife of 64 years, Solange “Sally” Field; his daughter Linda Field of Manchester, New Hampshire; three sons: Michael Field and his wife, Collette, of Manchester, Marshall Field and his fiancée, Elizabeth Stuart, of Northwood, and Brian Field and his wife, Kate, of Weare; eight grandchildren: Bradley, Shane, Jaxson, Kellen, Brittany, Matthew, Amanda, and Kenny; three great-grandchildren: Colton, Wallace, and Cooper; two brothers: Emanuel Field of Barnstead, New Hampshire, and Reginald Field of Grantham, New Hampshire; and many nephews, nieces, and cousins. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by brother Dennis Field.
Calling hours were at Phaneuf Funeral Homes and Crematorium in Manchester, New Hampshire, on Monday, September 21, following with a funeral service at noon in the funeral home. Burial was at St. Augustin Cemetery. For more information or to view an online memorial, go to www.phaneuf.net.
Wendell Alton Barry
Wendell Alton Barry, 87, of Newport, died on September 13, 2026 in Barton. He was born on August 6, 1939, in West Stewartstown, New Hampshire, to the late Charles and Bertha (Cook) Barry. On August 16, 1958, he married Patricia Brown (who predeceased him). They were together for 64 years.
He is survived by his son John Barry; grandchildren: Jennifer Barry Cenname, Nancy Barry, and Shawntol Rothwell; great-grandchildren: Christian and Giulianna Cenname; sister-in-law Glennis Barry; and nephews Brian Barry and Daniel Barry. He was also predeceased by daughter Jody Barry.
Wendell was a supervisor at Butterfields for 44 years before retiring. He served in the National Guard and ski patrol at Jay Peak. In his spare time he enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, fishing, and traveling with his wife, Pat, and daughter Jody. He was the owner of Charlie’s Pizza at the Orleans County Fair, and then donated it after three decades to the Awanas’. He was very active in all types of sports from a young age and was a coach/organizer of the local chapter of the Special Olympics. He was a lifelong member of the Newport Baptist Church, serving as an overseer for many years.
Funeral services will be held at the Newport Center Cemetery on Thursday, September 24, at 11 a.m.

Darlene Baraw of Derby Line died on September 20, 2026, at her home with her family by her side. Funeral services will be held on Friday, September 25, at 3 p.m. at Curtis-Britch and Bouffard Funeral Home, 4670 Darling Hill Road, Newport. Visitation will be held from 2 p.m. until the hour of the service. Burial will follow in the Derby Center Cemetery in Derby. A complete obituary will be in next week’s edition.
