NEWPORT—What does a dark musical about a popularity craving high school student and her psychopathic boyfriend have to offer students at North Country Union High School? According to some cast members of Heathers: The Musical, an opportunity to safely address serious issues facing them and their peers in an enjoyable and humorous way.
The show, which had its premiere in 2014, is based on the 1989 film, Heathers, a grim take off on a string of soft-focus high school films that were popular at the time.
