NEWPORT — The Falcons were flying in fine form on Friday night, when they welcomed U-32’s Raiders to their court. The North Country Union High School boys have not had a stellar season so far this year — after Friday’s game they had a 5-6 record — but the Raider’s have had it worse, winning only one out of ten games to date.
North Country was taking no chances and the team put up an early lead, one they would hold throughout the evening. With fleet feet beneath them, the Falcons kept the tempo of the match fast and fierce, outpacing the visitors’ defense and giving the Raiders few looks at an unguarded net.
On the tip-off the ball flew out of bounds but wound up in North Country’s possession. Within seconds, thanks to sophomore guard Scott Kingsley, the Falcons put a couple of points on the board. Kingsley was able to scratch out another two points, but it was senior guard Haidin Chilafoux who …
