NEWPORT — It’s reassuring to know there are people ready to help at a moment’s notice. Even if life goes on without a need for assistance having responders at the ready eases everyone. For those living around Newport and as far away as Brighton to the east and Lamoille County to the south, Newport Ambulance Service is first to answer the call.
Newport Ambulance’s work and the efforts of one of its emergency medical service providers earned recognition from the state for excellent work and devotion to saving lives Friday.
A small gathering of family and friends of those who work for Newport Ambulance gathered at the organization’s Newport headquarters. Will Moran, the director of the Division of Emergency Preparedness, Response, and Injury Prevention Vermont and EMS Chief with the state Department of Health, presented the awards.
