LOWELL — Small towns are often tightly knit around the schools which serve them. Take, for example, the Lowell Graded School. Sitting at the heart of the community, it serves as a center of activity for families in the area. For many years a family fair has been held in recognition of that local love. This year’s event drew out kids and their parents Saturday, as people flocked to the school for a day of fun.
Friends of Lowell Kids (FOLK), has held the event since a revitalization of the school, about two decades ago. It’s been going on long enough that some parents with youngsters out and about on Saturday, were once the kids on the playground at the fair themselves. …
