In Barton: Petition asks board to look into hiring law enforcement

BARTON — This week the Vermont State Police asked the public for help in finding the person or people who carried out a series of armed robberies in Orleans County over the past several months.  Four of the five took place in Orleans or Barton village, and a series of break-ins has also plagued businesses in Barton.

Leo McElroy, the proprietor of Village Treasures, is contributing to the fight against crime with a petition drive designed to urge the Barton Select Board to take action.
