Glover students will stay in town

BROWNINGTON — The Lake Region Union Elementary-Middle School District board met Monday for a special meeting and board retreat.  Members gathered in the old Grammar School at the Old Stone House Museum here for a get-together to foster closer working relations between board members.

The meeting, which included team-building exercises, was organized by John Castle, formerly superintendent of the North Country Supervisory Union, currently executive director of the Vermont Rural Education Collaborative.  He was invited by board chair Neil Urie of Albany.  At the meeting’s start, Mr. Urie said that he thought a gathering tailored towards familiarizing everyone with one another could prove to be a boon for all.

Board members also took time to discuss ongoing challenges with school facilities.  With the beginning of the year just a few weeks away, the issue of where kids will learn ….
