Falcon playoff hopes nipped in last minute of play

NEWPORT — It was an up and down week for the girls of North Country Union High School.  The girls soccer team met the Stratton Mountain School Bears on October 23 and cruised.  Friday they found themselves out of contention after a last moment loss to the Mount Abraham Union High School Eagles.

The match against the Stratton Mountain was an easy victory.  The Bears were unable to resist the Falcon offense and couldn’t penetrate North Country’s defense.  At the end of play the Falcons scored seven goals to nil for the Bears.
