Brownington festival exceeds organizers’ hopes

BROWNINGTON — The town of Brownington lucked out Saturday with a warm and beautiful autumn day on which to host the inaugural Brownington Harvest Festival.  The free event, which has the possibility of becoming an annual tradition, drew larger crowds than Brownington Connects, the group that organized it, was expecting.  Representative David Templeman, a founding member of Brownington Connects who now represents the community in the State House, said that the organization anticipated between 50 to 100 people.  By 1 p.m., all parking lots were overflowing, and Mr. Templeman estimated that he’d seen somewhere between 600 to 700 visitors.

The festival was held behind the Evansville Trading Post….
