BARTON — Most people associate Thanksgiving solely with an epic spread of food eaten in remembrance of the Pilgrim myth, but there is also a regular group of holiday pilgrims who see it as a chance to exercise before they chow down. The Turkey Trot 5K Marathon returned to give both competitive and social participants an opportunity to gather as community observance of the holiday and in support of the Barton Public Library.
The annual event sees runners, joggers, and walkers following the five kilometer course that winds along the streets of Barton. The event was founded more than twenty years ago to help with the medical expenses of Melissa White and Josh Murray …
