Barton students dig deep into family lore

BARTON —Leah Wells discovered that her great-great-grandmother had been featured in Vermont Life magazine.  Bryson Poginy discovered that his pépé spent his childhood working with 11 siblings on the family farm in Barton.  Brooklynne Matten discovered that her great-great-grandfather had been a slave in Virginia.    On Wednesday night, December 18, classrooms in the Barton Graded School were transformed into historical exhibits filled with creative displays of family snapshots, old letters, war registries, birth certificates, and photos of tombstones —
