ALBANY — Contagious laughter filled the air as a reporter walked into Danielle Palace’s first and second grade classroom at the Albany Community School, there to report on a life-size papier-mâché robot the class made after reading a book about it.
The book is called The Wild Robot, by Peter Brown, and is about a robot who loves and saves animals. The book has two sequels, The Wild Robot Escapes, which the class is now currently reading, and The Wild Robot Protects.
The series has taken hold of the classroom, and their teacher, Ms. Palace, has allowed her class freedom to celebrate and explore the book however they want. That included making a human-sized, gray-colored robot…
