New ballfield for Lake Region Little League at Orleans County Fairgrounds

Players, coaches, and supporters of the Lake Region Youth Baseball and Softball league have a new field to call home at the Orleans County Fairgrounds.

Talks of a new (well, newer) field have been a long time coming.  Dan Cummings, president of LR Youth Baseball and Softball, says the league’s board often discusses the issue of their kids not being able to get onto local school fields.  After lots of elbow grease and extra assistance from the community, the idea of a new field started to become reality.  Mr. Cummings said, thanks to local businesses that sponsor the league, fundraisers from players and their families, and the annual youth golf scramble at Barton Golf Club, enough contributions came through to help get the project off the ground.
