NEWPORT — The city council tabled one proposed policy and rejected another Monday evening during a meeting that turned contentious in its later moments.
A new policy on providing public records to the public was set aside for further consideration on the motion of council member Dan Ross, who noted the existence of a similar policy for the police department.
