ALBANY — Aurora is a magnificent barn owl from upstate New York.
Barn owls, also called ghost owls because of their silent flight, moved into Vermont during the nineteenth century, when farmers cut down the woods to create pastures for their sheep. And they’re pretty much gone from Vermont now that the state has been reforested.
