WESTMORE — Those who opposed the proposal to build a composting facility near the site of the Westmore Transfer Station can breathe a sigh of relief. Any town residents who hoped it would be built will have to deal with their disappointment.
Paul Tomasi, director of the Northeast Kingdom Waste Management District, wrote to select board members Tuesday and told them the site would not meet muster because of standing water in the area where processing would have taken place.
