Kingdom conference looks at jobs

EAST BURKE — NEK Together, the conference held at Burke Mountain Resort on November 11, brought together community members and professionals from across the Kingdom and beyond to assess progress made on the 2020 recovery action plan.

The breakout sessions covered a range of topics related to the three themes of the day: community engagement, civic and civil discourse, and convening people and organizations together to find solutions. Sessions on racial literacy, community organizing, framing challenging conversations through the lens of the arts, a vision for the future of Vermont State University all supported those themes, as did leveraging local ARPA funds, destination stewardship to support economic opportunity, and strategies to address housing challenges in the NEK.
