BARTON – Voters turned down the highway budget proposed by trustees and lowered the water department budget at the Barton Village Annual Meeting on March 12.
The 35 village residents who turned out for the meeting wanted explanations for the large increase in spending.
One question was why the trustees were asking for a highway budget $140,000 higher than the previous years. …
