Woman passed out in car after smoking crack, police say

NEWPORT —Newport City Police Patrolman Andrew Gonyaw said in his affidavit that just before 5 p.m. on June 22 he was told that a woman was passed out in a car parked at Waterfront Plaza.  The person who reported discovering the unconscious woman said she banged on the window of the car but failed to rouse her, the affidavit says.  It says Patrolman Gonyaw got to the lot, he recognized the woman as ….
