According to an announcement from the town of Westmore, the North Beach of Lake Willoughby will be closed to swimming until further notice due to a high E. coli count found in a recent testing. Even after the skies clear, the influx of runoff creates ideal conditions for E. coli bacteria and harmful cyanobacteria (blue-green algae).
